OUR BELIEFS
We believe God, through His Son Jesus Christ, has an incredible plan for your life! We believe that we are fearfully and wonderfully created by the triune Godhead. We believe our journey to eternal life begins with accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. After that incredible encounter, we believe that we should begin spending time with Jesus in daily devotion and prayer, reading our Bibles, and getting planted into a local Church. We believe the power of the Holy Spirit transforms us into witnesses and empowers us to live victoriously and accomplish impossible things. We believe that journeying together with other believers in community enables us to be strong, do more, and make an impact in our world.
II Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; Exodus 24:4; II Peter 3:2
The Bible is the inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are the divine revelations given from God and received by Man, and as such, are the only such revelations that are inspired and infallible. The Bible is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and morals. The Word of God is the direct revelation of the will of God for all men and for all time. The Scriptures were plenary-verbally inspired, that is the Holy Spirit breathed upon men the very words and thoughts He wanted in conjunction with the writers personalities, traits and emotions. The Holy Spirit guarded and preserved each thought, phrase and word from any error, omission or inaccuracy.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 48:16; Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6
Our God, and Sovereign Father, is revealed in Scriptures as the eternal Godhead, the Trinity, who has shown Himself as one God, existing in three persons – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Godhead is distinguishable but indivisible in essence; co-eternal, co-existent, co-equal in nature, attributes, power and glory. God is one undivided and invisible essence, yet with three eternal distinctions.
Colossians 1:15-19; Philippians 2:5-8; I Timothy 2:5-6; John 1:1-3, 14-18 Romans 5:12-21; Romans 10:9-10; John 3:16-17; I John 3:8
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who pre-existed with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Through the virgin birth, Jesus took upon Himself the form of Man, revealing Himself as the God-Man. Jesus Christ was sinless, perfect, crucified, buried, ressurrected, ascended, glorified and will come again to earth a second time for His bride the Church. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to the earth to undo the work of the devil, gave His life, and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God. Salvation is the free gift of God to mankind and is received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. This salvation experience occurs when an individual confesses with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in his heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead.
Matthew 3:11; John 14:16-17; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; Acts 2; Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11; 12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:16; I Timothy 4:14; II Timothy 1:6-7; I Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; I Peter 4:10
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. He is co-equal, co-eternal and co-existent with the Father and with the Son. His ministry upon the earth is to convict and covert man as well as be the great paraclete (comforter, counselor, helper, intercessor, advocate, strengthener and standby) to the Church. The Holy Spirit is the One who indwells every believer to enable us to live a fruitful, joyful Christian life. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit was given at the Day of Pentecost to empower the Church to preach and demonstrate the Gospel throughout the whole earth. The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts, as the Spirit enables, to build up and sanctify the church, demonstrating the validity of the resurrection, and confirming the power of the Gospel.
Acts 2:21, 3:19; I John 1:9
Repentance is the commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ, which allows us to receive His redemption and to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Thus, through repentance we receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation.
Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23
The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ Great Commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of Christ. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
I Thessalonians 5:23; II Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 3:12-14; I Corinthians 1:30
The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return.
Psalms 103:2; Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16: 17-18; Acts 8:6-7; I Peter 2:24; I John 2; 1 Corinthians 12:9; II Corinthians 8:9
The death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ not only secured the eternal redemption from sin, but also redemption from sickness and disease and redemption from poverty and lack. Healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus, and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign, which is to follow believers. It is also a part of Jesus’ work on the Cross and one of the gifts of the Spirit. Divine Healing has been provided for by the Atonement.
Acts 2:46-47, Mark 16: 15, Acts 5:42, 2 Tim 2:15
All Christians are responsible to assemble together weekly to worship in the house of God and to frequently gather together in homes for fellowship, the breaking of bread and study of the Word together. We are ordained for reaching out to the lost with the Gospel and serving the body of Christ with the gifts the Spirit of God has given to each of us. We are all responsible for being equipped in the Word of God in order not to be ashamed and to be prepared for works of ministry. We are stewards of all the resources God has entrusted to us and thus are responsible for bringing the tithe and our offerings into the House of God.
The Lord Jesus Christ, Head of the Church, established two ordinances, while affirming a third, for the Church to follow:
Water Baptism: Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be immediately baptized in water, by full immersion, in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48).
The Lord’s Supper: A unique and special time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross (Matthew 26:26-29; I Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25).
Marriage: We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before God (Matthew 19:4-6).
Matthew 5:3, 12, 20, 6:20, 19:21, 25:34; John 17:24; II Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; I Peter 1:4
Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 9:27; Matthew 25:31-46; Mark 9:43-48; Mark 16:15-16
The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire and therefore has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting.
Matthew 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; I Thessalonians 4:15-17; II Thessalonians 1:7-8; Revelation 1:7
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures.
