James Weidner III   -

Psalm 150:1 Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament! 2 Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! 3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and harp! 4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! 5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals! 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!

1 Corinthians 8:6 (ESV) yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.

  1. For Whom We Exist.
    • Jesus is the reason for WHOM we exist.
    • And through WHOM we exist.
    • A Life of Praise.
    • Praise Him in Church.
    • Praise out in the world.
    • Praise Him for all His works in our life.
    • Praise Him out loud.
    • Praise Him with our last breath.
  1. Time is the currency of life’s existence.
  • “(John Piper’s Sermons (over 1200 sermons)) Careful planning is part of what makes a person wise and productive. Not to plan is considered foolish and dangerous. This is true even though the Proverbs teach that we do not know what the future may bring. “A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). The fact that the Lord is ultimately in control of the future does not mean we shouldn’t plan. It means we should commit our work to the Lord and trust him to establish our plans according to his loving purposes.” Piper

    2. I’m soon turning 50 this year.
      • I’ve always said, if the Lord tarries, I want to live to be 100 years old.
      • So in a weird sort of way I am middle aged this year. Ha!
      • And somehow that feels like a one of those bigger deal years in my life.

    3. Augustine “Time takes no holiday.  It does not roll idly by, but through our senses works it’s own wonders in the mind. Time came and went from one day to the next; and it’s coming and it’s passing it brought me other hopes and other memories…”
    4. Time is the currency of life’s existence.
      • And differently from your USD or precious metals time is not sitting around waiting for you to spend it.
      • Time is moving on with or without us.
  1. He gives provisions for the journey.

Joshua 1:(ESV) 10 And Joshua commanded the officers of the people, 11 “Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, ‘Prepare your provisions, for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan to go in to take possession of the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess.’”

Luke 19: (ESV) 12 He said therefore, “A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return. 13 Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Engage in business until I come.’

Psalms 37:25 (NKJV) I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.

    1. You will never find a seasoned servant of the Lord who will say; the Lord has not provided.
      • You will have what you need; When you use what you have for the need.
    2. Leaving nothing shelved that is intended for use.
    3. Prepare your provisions for the next leg of the journey.
    4. Step out and Step In.
    5. Getting out of the flesh.
    6. Getting into the Spirit.
    7. Believing what God had said about us and our future.
  1. The anointing of the Lord destroying the yoke.

Isaiah 10:27 (NKJV) It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.

    1. Getting the anointing in play in your life.
      • Getting a break through.
      • By seeking the face of Jesus.
      • By falling in love with Jesus.
      • Dying to yourself.
    2. Only by prayer and fasting.

Mark 9:29 (ISV) He told them, “This kind can come out only by prayer and fasting.”

      • When we need different results.
      • We press in into deeper depths.
      • Getting revived in our relationship with Jesus.
      • Falling in need of The Word.
    1. Get filled up with the Holy Spirit.
  1. Life and ministry flows from the overflow…

Ephesians 5: (NKJV) 15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.

    1. First and foremost we are lovers of Jesus…
    2. Being filled with the Spirit…
    3. When serving replaces loving in any area of our life the joy is sucked from it like air from a ballon…
    4. Serving out of an empty vessel verses a full vessel…
    5. Ela… like a server at a restaurant coming to refill your glass of water with an empty container.
    6. Expectations become unclear when we are empty.
    7. We want to be recognized and appreciated. We need to be recognized and appreciated. We try to fill our cup with man’s recognition. Only ends in an empty vessel.

Conclusion:

Abound still more

Philippians 1: 9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

  • Praying that we are abounding in knowledge and discernment.
  • Approving of things that are excellent.
  • Producing fruits that glorify Christ.
