- Let us draw near with a true and sincere heart.

- true genuine-opposite to what is fictitious, counterfeit, imaginary, simulated or pretended it contrasts realities with their semblances opposite to what is imperfect defective, frail, uncertain – true, veracious, sincere
- Intimacy with God is always a matter of the heart over mind.
4. Getting our hearts in a right place.
Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.
- From our heart flows the well springs of life.
- Keep our heart: to guard, watch, watch over, keep to preserve, guard from dangers to keep, observe, guard with fidelity to guard, keep secret to be kept close, be blockaded watchman (participle)
- With all vigilance: to place a guard post around the entrances to our heart.
- If we cannot get our heart in the right place no part of our life will follow.
- Those things which we see and hear do affect our heart and our soul.
- People often time want to keep acting like everything is ok and normal even when their heart is astray.
1 Samuel 16:7 says, “…For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
- The Lord causes us to draw near.
Jeremiah 30:21-23 (NKJV Strong’s) Then I will cause him to draw near, And he shall approach Me; For who is this who pledged his heart to approach Me?’ says the Lord. 22 ‘You shall be My people, And I will be your God.’ ” 23 Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord Goes forth with fury, A continuing whirlwind;
- Evaluate your motive when you draw near.
Ecc 5:1 Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. 2 Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few. 3 For a dream comes with much business, and a fool’s voice with many words.
- Intimacy with the Lord comes from getting our hearts in the right place.

- Not forgetting the kindness and mercy the Lord has shown to each one of us.
- God can see things about you that no one else can see.
- Deep things. Hidden things. You know, those inner thoughts and desires that your family and friends have no idea are even floating around in your heart and mind.
- And sometimes what you think you know, if coming from a heart that has been hurt and damaged, is not as you think it is.
- How do you know when your heart is in a wrong place?
- Drawing near with our mouths but our hearts far away.
- Because when our hearts are in a bad place our hearts working in cooperation with our minds have a way of deceiving us.
- If our heart is not in the right place with God and then with people we become a people that is very hard to love.
- You cannot actively love you someone who refuses to be be loved.
- You can become seemingly unlovable when your heart is in a wrong place and all you do is push people away.
- If our hearts are not at peace, if when are having a problem with someone in our life, if we ourselves are struggling with sin let no action be taken without the witness of two or three trusted witnesses.
- Intimacy with the Lord comes from getting our hearts in the right place.
Deuteronomy 17:6 By the mouth of two or three witnesses shall he die that is to be slain. Let no man be put to death, when only one beareth witness against him.
- We cannot come to conclusions on our own and call them fact.
